About the Project

Extensive renovation and expansion of spaces for career training programs at two high schools. Both facilities required specialized labs, flexible classrooms and collaboration spaces.
At Hermitage High School, a two-story, 72,000 SF expansion included a large forum presentation space and new state-of-the-art educational spaces for the culinary, graphics and media services programs. Renovations to the horticulture and vet science building improved the facilities for providing both instruction and hands-on experience.
At Highland Springs High School, renovation involved the repurposing of the 27,000 SF former gymnasium into a functional, vibrant space with hands-on workshops and interactive classrooms. The existing 50,000 SF building was renovated and modernized, including new facade elements.
The programs chosen for expansion corresponded to the needs of local businesses, including health care, hospitality, culinary arts and construction trades.
