Brian T. Stanley, PE

Education:
B.S.C.E., University of Maryland, 1998
M.Eng., University of Maryland, 2003

I love seeing a theoretical design become reality. I feel a true sense of accomplishment not only because of the experience we bring to that process, but also because of the care, collaboration and proactive problem-solving that we, as a team, bring every time. There’s nothing I enjoy more than driving through Richmond, seeing our past and current projects and thinking about what our team and our clients have achieved together.

Brian began working at Dunbar in 2012, and today his passion for structural engineering, and especially for doing what’s right for each client, is as strong as ever.

With a preference for large and complex projects that will have a significant influence, he enjoys collaborating and building relationships with architects and other consultants that result in a high-performing team. In fact, Brian has a reputation for building cohesive teams and ensuring open and effective communication.

His favorite project to date is the Children’s Hospital of Richmond Pavilion at VCU where he had the opportunity to design giant columns, robust shear walls and massive steel-braced frames.

Outside of work, Brian enjoys playing indoor soccer and hiking and/or camping in the woods to take a break from technology. Brian has three awesome kids, an even more awesome wife and one high-maintenance dog.
