Shelton Fraher is a Senior Associate in Dunbar’s Richmond office with 14 years of experience in structural engineering. His work includes structural design, project coordination, and Revit standards management, supporting a wide range of project types including multifamily developments, K-12 schools, mechanical renovations, and contractor assistance.
Shelton was drawn to engineering by the opportunity to see ideas become physical spaces that people can use for years to come. He found his way to structural engineering because it was the part of the field he enjoyed learning most. One project he is especially proud of is St. Catherine’s Arts and Innovation Center, now Endeavour Hall, which received the 2023 GRACRE Real Estate Award for Best Academic Project in Greater Richmond.
Outside of work, Shelton volunteers with ACE Mentors as Lead Mentor at CodeRVA Regional High School, helping introduce students to careers in architecture, construction, and engineering. He also enjoys live music, playing music with friends, and golfing when time allows. Shelton loves spending time with his wife, Emily, daughter, Stella, and their golden retriever, Dylan, who loves long walks, swimming in the river, and frisbee.
